Ben Tabak, PhD

Dr. Ben Tabak is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY35798) who treats adults coping with anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, and everyday stress. Dr. Tabak received his B.A. in psychology from Skidmore College, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Miami. He completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship in psychiatry at the Miami Veterans Administration Medical Center. He then received additional advanced training in evidenced-based psychotherapy research and neuroscience informed psychological treatment during a post-doctoral fellowship in the UCLA Psychology Department, which is the #1 ranked clinical psychology department in the United States. Before moving to Orange County, Dr. Tabak worked in the Department of Psychology at SMU in Dallas, TX where he directed the Social & Clinical Neuroscience Research Lab, published numerous papers, served as a consulting editor for leading journals, and won a teaching award. He was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2023, but decided to transition his career from academic research to helping individuals in clinical practice. Dr. Tabak will be an Adjunct Professor at UC Irvine beginning in the Fall.

Naomi Tabak, PhD, ABPP

Dr. Naomi Tabak is a licensed and board-certified clinical psychologist (PSY26153) with years of experience treating adults with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and major mental illness. Dr. Tabak received her B.A. in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami in 2012. She completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship in the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System and the University of California, San Diego. She then received additional advanced training through a clinical post-doctoral fellowship in Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery at the San Diego VA and a research post-doctoral fellowship at UCLA. From 2016-2022, Dr. Tabak served as director of the SMU Psychology Clinic and Co-Director of Clinical Training for the doctoral program in clinical psychology in Dallas, Texas. In 2022, she moved back to Southern California, where she works in the Department of Psychological Science at UC, Irvine.
