At Welcome in Psychology Group, we offer evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) for adults (18+) to improve sleep and well-being.
Sleep is the foundation of mental and physical health—affecting your mood, focus, energy, and overall well-being. Whether you’re struggling with difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up feeling unrested, these patterns can feel frustrating and exhausting.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is the gold standard non-medication based treatment for sleep problems. It offers a proven approach that helps you understand and change the thoughts and behaviors that disrupt your sleep. Together, we’ll work to build practical strategies tailored to your unique needs, helping you restore restful nights and more energized days.
The Process - What to Expect in Treatment
1. Consultation
The free initial consultation involves a low-pressure first conversation to understand what’s been going on with your sleep, the challenges you’ve encountered, and what you would like to improve.
2. Assessment
In the first few sessions, a series of research-based questions will be asked to understand your sleep habits, daily stress levels, and other factors that may be affecting the quality of your sleep.
3. Tailored Plan
A custom roadmap is developed to fit your lifestyle and daily schedule. CBT-I is not the same for everyone so your treatment plan will be created by combining research-backed, proven methods with what realistically works for you.
4. Therapy Sessions
CBT-I sessions include sleep hygiene education, sleep restriction therapy, stimulus control, relaxation strategies, and cognitive restructuring. Each session gives you a confidential space to talk honestly and learn evidence-based techniques to improve your sleep and well-being.
5. Review Progress
A primary component of CBT-I is the use of a sleep log, which can be app-based. By regularly checking in on what’s improving and what still feels hard, adjustments can be made when needed.
