Challenges for New Fathers

Therapy for New Dads

In-person or online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for anyone living in California

At Welcome in Psychology Group, we offer personalized, evidence-based therapy for men adjusting to fatherhood.

Many dads are used to operating at a high level. After a baby arrives, sleep deprivation, feeling caught between work and home, and feeling disconnected from your partner can quietly erode focus and patience. You may feel burned out and on edge—yet unsure whether it’s “serious enough” to address.

Therapy offers a straightforward, confidential space to talk honestly—without judgment or pressure. We start by understanding what you’re dealing with day to day and how you’ve been handling it so far. Together, we make sense of what’s driving the stress and what needs to shift, so support stays practical, focused, and genuinely useful.

The Process

1. Consultation

A low-pressure first conversation to understand your experiences, challenges, and therapy goals.

2. Assessment

In the initial sessions, we ask targeted questions to understand your stress, relationships, sleep, and work.

3. Tailored Plan

A custom roadmap for therapy that fits your life as a dad—realistic, practical and aligned with what matter most to you and your family.

4. Therapy Sessions

Therapy sessions give you a confidential space to talk honestly, build coping tools, and navigate the demands of fatherhood.

5. Review Progress

We regularly check in on what’s improving and what still feels hard, adjusting the approach so therapy stays useful and relevant.
